Voip Phone to cordless

Hello I have a wired IP phone that I would like to connect the wireless handsets to be a little more mobile in the house. I am told I can get an ATA box, but how is it connected to the existing phone or does it have to be? On the phone there is an inlet for the ethernet cable and also an inlet for a PC, do I connect the ATA box there or ??
